In the navigable sector of the canal which runs from the slipway at Easington through to Hope Mill, there are four single locks and one double lock on the old Stroud Water Navigation and five locks on the Thames & Severn Canal.
For those on the Stroud Water Navigation, nominal lock dimensions are 70’ long by 15’6” wide and on the Thames & Severn the nominal dimensions on the locks from Wallbridge to Bourne Lock are 74’ long by 15’6” wide. With the exception of Ryeford Lock, all of the locks are traditional double gated wide locks easy to operate, consistent with the rest of the National Navigation System.

This has a rise of 2.2m (7.5’) and was restored in 1992.

This lock was restored in 2012 and is the only double lock on the Stroudwater Navigation. The lower half has a rise of 2.5m (8.5’) whilst the upper half also has a rise of 2.5m (8.5’).
This lock is 3.37km east of Newtown.
This is a single gate designed to prevent flood waters leaving the river section and passing down the canal. Excess water being directed into the River Frome at the new Ebley Weir.
Ebley Flood Gate should be left closed but with one paddle left half up. This paddle is normally locked in position.

It has a lift of 3m (10’) and is 1.21 km from Wallbridge Upper lock.
This locks restoration was completed in 2018 and is 0.62km east of Bowbridge Lock. It has a lift of 3m (10’).
This lock is the furthest most lock on the extent of the navigable canal.
It is 0.57km from Griffin Mill Lock and has a lift of 2.7m (9’).
